Building Division

​Building Division Hours: Monday - Thursday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Friday 7:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Building Inspection Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Friday 8:30 am to 12:00 pm.


The Building Division has the responsibility of ensuring that all structures and development within the city limits are constructed and maintained to comply with the minimum safety standards set forth in the 2018 International Building Code with Appendices C, G, H, I and J with local amendments, 2018 International Residential Code with Appendices A, B, C, G, H, J, O, P and Q with local amendments, 2018 International Plumbing Code with Appendices B, C, D, and E, 2018 International Mechanical Code with Appendix A, 2018 International Fuel Gas Code with Appendices A, B and C, 2018, 2018 International Energy Conservation Code, 2018 International Existing Building Code with Appendices A, B and C, 2018 International Fire Code with Appendices B, C, D, E, H and I with local amendments, 2017 National Electrical Code, Arizonans with Disabilities Act and Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines for Buildings and Facilities. This includes code review, plan review, issuing building and grading permits, field inspections, complaint investigations and related enforcement activities.

All contractors are required to be licensed through the State of Arizona, unless work falls under the Handyman Exemption A.R.S. Sec. 32-1121A.14. More information on licensed contractors can be found at https://roc.az.gov/ 
Any work being done on a Manufactured Home or Factory Built Building will also need to be licensed through the State of Arizona. Information can be found at https://housing.az.gov/general-public/manufactured-housing


*EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2019, THE STATE OF ARIZONA, DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING, MANUFACTURED HOME DIVISION WILL BE CHANGING THEIR FEE SCHEDULE. THIS MEANS PERMIT & INSPECTION FEES FOR ALL MANUFACTURED OR FACTORY BUILT BUILDING PERMITS WILL CHANGE. THESE FEES WILL BE IN EFFECT UNTIL JUNE 30, 2020.*


Any person(s) working without a license will be subject to fines and fees established by the State of Arizona Registrar of Contractors.
