Responsibilities
The Fire Department provides fire, EMS, rescue, hazardous materials and disaster response and mitigation. Fire prevention priorities are public fire and life safety education, plan review, code enforcement, pre-fire planning and fire cause determination.
The department's paramedics and EMTs provide 24-hour emergency medical and rescue response. The department's staff is trained in emergency disaster response and provides incident management and scene mitigation during man-made or natural disaster situations such as severe weather, flooding, hazardous materials, confined space, mass casualty and technical rescue.
