Family Events

Cottonwood Parks and Recreation sponsors many community and special events throughout the year. Different events are geared toward children, families or adults. Many of these events are free or at a minimal cost. Check out the information below and see what fun the City of Cottonwood and Parks and Recreation provides you.

New Year’s Eve Celebration
Celebrate the New Year with the City of Cottonwood’s New Year’s Eve Celebration at the Cottonwood Recreation Center. Free for everyone! From 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. on December 31, 2019 we will have swimming, holiday movies & popcorn, hot cocoa, family games and more! Then join us in the gymnasium to watch the Time Square Ball Drop along with sparkling cider and our own balloon drop celebration. This is a fun, family friendly and free celebration event!

Old Fashioned Easter Egg Hunt
Cottonwood's Old Fashioned Easter Egg Hunt is held yearly the Saturday before Easter. Children ages 1 month to 8 years gather at Riverfront Park with their baskets or bags to search for candy and prize filled eggs. The Cottonwood Youth Advisory Commission has been known to bring the Easter Bunny with them for hugs and pictures. The Hunt begins at 10:00 am, but arrive early as parking spots fill quickly. This is a free event.

Old Town Music and the Market
Join us at the Old Town Activity Park for Thursday evenings in May, June and September. The Market isn’t held in July or August to reduce the number of probable rain-outs. Shop locally grown fruits and vegetables, handcrafted and homemade items and more while listening to some of the best regional musicians around. Visit oldtownmusicandthemarket.org for more information.

Cottonwood Summer Cinema Series
Join us for free movies at the Old Town Activity Park and the Cottonwood Aquatics Center. Refreshments will be available for purchase at both locations.

Dive-In Movies at the CAC: Second Saturday of June, July and August. Gates open at 7:45 pm, movies begin at dark.
Movies in the Park/Club House: Last Saturday of June and July. Seating begins at 7:00 pm, movies begin at dark.
