1. Bicycle Patrol

    Police bicycles are used to patrol special events, city streets, private property and other areas not easily traversed by foot. They have a positive impact on crime reduction and increase community policing efforts and officer mobility.

  2. Cottonwood Police Explorers

    The Cottonwood Police Explorers is a program for youth ages 10-20, who are interested in Law Enforcement as a Career.

  3. K-9 Handlers

    The Cottonwood Police Department K-9 Unit was started in 1990 and since its inception there has been seven K-9’s, one of which is currently serving.

  4. Motor Officers

    The purpose of traffic enforcement is to reduce traffic accidents and injuries and to facilitate the safe and expeditious flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic through the public's voluntary compliance with traffic regulations. The traffic unit does this through a combination of education and enforcement.

    The School Safety Officer (SSO) is a key component to the departments overall community policing plans and crime prevention efforts within the City of Cottonwood.

    The mission of the Verde Valley Regional SWAT Team is to provide a well-disciplined, well-trained, efficient unit, which can be utilized in situations where the public and individual officers are in danger and at a distinct disadvantage.
