Alley North of Cactus Street Parking Lot to be upgraded

The City of Cottonwood has contracted with Mulcaire & Sons Contracting, Inc. to complete the OTPL2 Alley Improvements project. Work is scheduled to commence on September 14, 2020. The project is located in the alley between Main Street and Cactus Street north of the City parking lot on Cactus Street.

This project will entail the installation of underground storm drain, concrete curb and gutter, and asphalt paving within the alley. Residences and businesses along this project corridor will experience periods of increased noise throughout the duration of the project. Traffic through this section of alley will be prohibited, however no other traffic interruption on surrounding streets is anticipated. We ask that motorists and pedestrians follow all posted signs.

Construction will take place Monday thru Thursday and should be completed within 2-3 weeks. The Contractor will be allowed to start work at 6:00am and may work up to 7:00pm as allowed by the Cottonwood Municipal Code. If you are within the active work zone limits we ask that you park your vehicles safely and legally outside of those limits.

We understand that this may be a short-term inconvenience and we hope to work together with you in a professional and amicable manner for the long-term improvement of your neighborhood. Rest assured that we will do everything possible to minimize the impact of our activities on your neighborhood. If you have particular concerns (scheduled deliveries, construction, accessibility needs, etc.) that must be addressed, please contact me at the number listed below. We will do everything possible to find a mutually agreeable solution.

You will begin to see utility companies painting the streets and sidewalks and putting little flags in the vicinity of this construction. Please do not remove or alter these marks for the duration of the project. In addition, property owners are encouraged to mark or contact us with any privately-owned underground facilities within a couple feet of the right-of-way line such as heated driveways, irrigation systems or underground dog fencing. The City of Cottonwood and Mulcaire & Sons Contracting, Inc. cannot be responsible for damage to private utilities if we are unaware of their existence.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this project. If you have any questions, please contact Martin Smith at 928-340-2773 or msmith@cottonwoodaz.gov.
