Cottonwood Community Garden
Welcome to the Cottonwood Community Garden (CCG) web page. The garden is located at Riverfront Park in Cottonwood, Arizona. The City of Cottonwood has assumed management of the Cottonwood Community Garden, and City Clerk, Marianne Jiménez, has been appointed as garden manager by the Cottonwood City Council.
The garden received a spring cleaning and plots are currently being leased for the year. The garden has been designated as an organic garden. Any fertilizers, soil amendments, pest, weed, and disease control products used in the garden must be listed under the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) products list. The list is provided on OMRI’s website: omri.org. A copy of the OMRI products list is also available for review at the City Clerk’s office.
For $25 a family or individual can grow their own fruits or vegetables in a 16 x 16 garden plot. Plots are available for restaurants or other business ventures (growing vegetables to be sold at farmers markets, etc.) for $75 a year. There is no additional charge for water.
A section of the Community Garden has been set aside specifically for Square Foot Gardens (SFG.) More information regarding Square Foot Gardens can be found at the Square Foot Garden website: squarefootgardening.org. Ms. Jiménez is a SFG certified instructor and can also answer any questions regarding Square Foot Gardening. Her contact information is: email@example.com or 928-340-2727.
Gardening tools provided by the city are available for use at the garden. Click here to view the Rules & Regulations for the Cottonwood Community Garden.
