I was born and raised in Highland, CA which is a small town basically between LA and Palm Springs. My Husband and I moved to Phoenix in January 2007. In October of 2007 we came up to Cottonwood for the Smoke-Out Motorcycle Rally and we both fell in love with the town and all the wonderful and very friendly Cottonwood residents. We came back and purchased our first Cottonwood home in November 2008. After selling our Phoenix home, we decided to make Cottonwood our permanent home and we both couldn't be happier.
I enjoy volunteering throughout the community and focus on serving veterans and their families. I am the Secretary for the Modified Motorcycle Association (MMA) of the Verde Valley District and the former MMA State Treasurer. I am a member of both the VFW Post 7400 and American Legion Post 25 Auxiliaries and a Member of American Legion Post 25 Legion Riders. I try to get out and assist our veterans as much as possible. I also loving riding motorcycles with my husband and friends. I have been very active in working with the City to get the Look Twice For Motorcycle signs up around our community as well as supporting the Thunder Valley Rally and other events that bring visitors to our community.
I have worked in HealthCare pretty much my entire adult life, starting out in the early 1990s as a pediatric nurse in a doctors office in California. I worked my way thru college and went to work for a local Health Plan serving the Medicaid population. I currently work for United Health Care/Optum Technology as an IT Manager. I received my Masters in Public Administration from Cal State University in 2002 and always hoped to be able to apply my education into volunteer or community service.
I am excited to serve the community I love and work closely with the residents of Cottonwood as well as the Mayor, City Council and City Employees. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity to serve my community.
