John O’Neill has lived in the Verde Valley since 1976 and worked at the Cottonwood Public Library since April of 1982. He was named library director in 1987. He grew up in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho where he attended North Idaho College for two years and transferred to Eastern Washington University graduating with honors. He majored in English Literature with minors in English education, psychology and history.
John served on Clarkdale’s Planning and Zoning Committee for 4 years in the early 90’s and a full term as an advisory board member to the then University of Arizona Graduate School of Library Science. He lives in Clarkdale with his lovely wife Lisa and two lively in-door only cats Daisy and Xena (Zeena).
