Family Events

Cottonwood Parks and Recreation sponsors many community and special events throughout the year. Different events are geared toward children, families or adults. Many of these events are free or at a minimal cost. Check out the information below and see what fun the City of Cottonwood and Parks and Recreation provides you.

Fantastic Family Fourth of July

Held each year on the Fourth of July at the Cottonwood Kid's Park adjacent to 12th Street. This family event has free hot dogs, hamburgers and watermelon, watermelon eating contests, patriotic salutes and the best pyrotechnic show in Northern Arizona. To see the most recent flyer, click here.

Cottonwood Summer Cinema Series

Join us for free movies at the Old Town Activity Park and the Cottonwood Aquatics Center. Refreshments will be available for purchase at both locations. Click here for the most current movie flyer.

   Dive-In Movies at the CAC: Second Saturday of June, July and August. Gates open at 7:45 pm, movies begin at dark.
   Movies in the Park/Club House: Last Saturday of June and July. Seating begins at 7:00 pm, movies begin at dark.

Old Town Music and the Market

The OTM&M has New Dates! Join us at the Old Town Activity Park for Thursday evenings in May, June and September. The Market won't be held in July or August to reduce the number of rain-outs. Shop locally grown fruits and vegetables, handcrafted and homemade items and more while listening to some of the best regional musicians around. Missoula Children's Theatre

The 2019 Cottonwood Residency is Peter and Wendy. Auditions are Monday, June 24. Show up to register at 9:45 am for auditions that begin at 10:00 am. Auditions, rehearsals and the show will be back at the newly renovated (and air conditioned!) Cottonwood Community Club House (Cottonwood Civic Center) 805 N. Main Street in Old Town. Tickets for the shows, Saturday, June 29 at 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm, will be available from performers and at the door. Old Fashioned Easter Egg Hunt
Cottonwood's Old Fashioned Easter Egg Hunt is held yearly the Saturday before Easter. Children ages 1 month to 8 years gather at Riverfront Park with their baskets or bags to search for candy and prize filled eggs. The Cottonwood Youth Advisory Commission has been known to bring the Easter Bunny with them for hugs and pictures. The Hunt begins at 10:00 am, but arrive early as parking spots fill quickly. Daddy Daughter Date Night
A special night for daughters ages 5 to 17 and their amazing dads. Held the Friday before Father's Day at the Cottonwood Recreation Center. Tickets go on sale the beginning of May. Click here for more information.
