Cottonwood Public Safety Communications Center
The Cottonwood Regional Communications Center (CRCC) is a state-of-the-art facility which serves as a regional dispatching center for 13 Police, Fire, and Medical agencies.

Criminal Investigations Division
This unit investigates major crimes, as well as those requiring resources not available within the patrol division. Criminal Investigators utilize advanced tools and training in order to prevent and solve crime for residents and businesses in Cottonwood.

Records
The Police Records Section serves as the central repository for incident, arrest and traffic records prepared by department personnel.

Victim Assistance
The Victim Assistance unit provides victims of crime with a road map through the criminal justice and court processes and also helps re-stabilize victims of crime.

Professional Standards/ Public Information Officer
This position is responsible for the investigation and recommendation of findings for all internal and external complaints against police department employees and coordinates the hiring and backgrounds of Police Department Employees. In addition, they serve as the Public Information Officer for the Department to disseminate and respond to media inquiries involving public safety and department activities. An auxiliary duty of the position includes developing, reviewing and disseminating department policy and procedure to contemporary police industry standards.

Cottonwood Police Cadets
The Cottonwood Police Cadets is a program for youth ages 14-18, who are interested in Law Enforcement as a Career.

COP Volunteers
The mission statement of our Citizen on Patrol (COP) program is to enhance the individual and collective safety and general welfare of all people of the City of Cottonwood by assisting the Cottonwood Police Department in deterring crime in Cottonwood. The primary method used to deter crime will be to provide high visibility patrol within the City.

SWAT Team
The mission of the Verde Valley Regional SWAT Team is to provide a well-disciplined, well-trained, efficient unit, which can be utilized in situations where the public and individual officers are in danger and at a distinct disadvantage.

Terrorism Liaison Officer (TLO)
The TLO's act as the lead coordinators for our organization on matters related to terrorism and threats. TLO's serve in a variety of roles such as inter-agency representative's, in-house subject matter experts, de facto terrorism intelligence analysts and collection managers, and all-around terrorism "go-to" personnel. In addition, they assist various public organizations and private businesses with developing site security plans and and threat vulnerability assessments.

Fleet Management
The Cottonwood Police Department operates a fleet of approximately 50 plus vehicles including patrol cars, SWAT specialty vehicles, an off-road enforcement vehicle, Command Van, and three specialty trailers.

Training Unit
The Training Unit consists of a training supervisor who over sees all training and instructors. A part time police officer is assigned as the training coordinator who schedules and maintains all sworn training records along with 12 other officers with collateral training duties in specialty areas including defensive tactics, firearms, vehicle operations, medical, physical fitness, high risk stops, dui and traffic enforcement. Police Officers train an average of 8 hours of a month those areas above including law and legal areas.
