CITY OF COTTONWOOD WORKS WITH FURLOUGHED FEDERAL EMPLOYEES


COTTONWOOD, Arizona (January 24, 2019)  Local residents who are Federal employees and have not been getting paid due to the partial government shutdown can receive help with their City of Cottonwood Water and Sewer utility bill payments until the federal government reopens and they receive their back pay.

City customer service representatives can work with residents affected by the partial government shutdown. Affected customers are encouraged to call the City of Cottonwood Utilities at (928) 634-0186 to start the process. Once the Federal employees receive their paychecks, they an make their payment in full or setup a payment arrangement. All late fees will be waived and services will not be turned off to these customers during the deferment period.

To qualify, customers must reach out to the city proactively and must stay in contact with the city until their situations are resolved.
