[ARCHIVED] City of Cottonwood PSA Regarding Reopening of Riverfront Park

Park Entrance

CITY OF COTTONWOOD PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

February 20, 2019

Riverfront Park Reopening

Effective:  Wednesday, February 20, 2019 - 12:00 P.M.

This is an important message from the City of Cottonwood Public Works Department.  Today City crews completed the cleanup efforts at Riverfront Park.  As of 12:00 PM, today, Riverfront Park has been reopened to the public.  Residents should be aware that the grass areas that were inundated with flood waters from the Verde River remain muddy.  Over time this material will infiltrate and wash away.

As we look at the remainder of the week, the National Weather Service has issued a “Winter Storm Warning” for our region beginning late in the evening on Wednesday, February 20th and lasting through the afternoon of Friday, February 22nd.  The National Weather Service is predicting a significant amount of snow accumulation for Northern Arizona with an expected snow level of around 3,000 feet.  Residents should be prepared for cold weather and potential snow and ice.
