[ARCHIVED] Public Service Announcement Update for Utility Work at the Intersection of Mingus Ave & Main St

CITY OF COTTONWOOD PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

March 25, 2019

Utility Work - Mingus Avenue and Main Street Intersection

Effective:  3/25/2019 - 4/2/2019

This is an important message from the City of Cottonwood.

On Saturday, March 23, 2019, the obstructed traffic patterns were returned to their original state at the intersection of Mingus Avenue and Main Street. The work at the intersection is nearly complete with the exception of the tie-in to the existing water main in front of Circle K. The City and contractor are waiting for laboratory test results of the waterline sampling conducted last week before the two lines can be tied together. Once passing test results are received, the Contractor will pull the steel plate from the roadway, make the connection between the two waterlines and restore the road surface. It is anticipated that the results of the testing will be received early this week and the Contractor will be performing the final tie-in and restoration work this week. The remaining work will be conducted within minor closures of individual lanes leading to the intersection and a complete closure is not anticipated.

Please exercise caution and obey all traffic control signs while traveling in the area.
