COTTONWOOD, AZ – Governor Doug Ducey and the Arizona Department of Health Services have partnered to make a coronavirus testing push over the next three Saturdays (May 2, 9, and 16). This testing will help supply the data needed to make informed decisions about re-open businesses. In Cottonwood Spectrum Healthcare at 651 Mingus Avenue will be conducting testing. Call Spectrum Healthcare at 928-634-2236 to register for a test.
These diagnostic tests will be available to anyone who wants one and registers at one of the available testing sites (see link below for testing site information). This viral test will only show whether subjects are currently infected, so those experiencing COVID-19 symptoms are encouraged to get tested. To find a location and schedule a test visit https://www.azdhs.gov/preparedness/epidemiology-disease-control/infectious-disease-epidemiology/index.php?fbclid=IwAR0poQLvZcKp6TRsOm6FVj2BgZcWUbWT8lybXVudMqHDBQH0jWpdhoFXERo#novel-coronavirus-testing-blitz.
Antibody tests are different than the diagnostic tests in that they detect if the subject has been previously infected. These tests are not being offered through this testing blitz but may be available to individuals with a doctor’s order. Sonora Quest expects to have these tests available directly to consumers at some point in May.
