Portion of Yavapai Street to be Changed to One-Way Traffic
Cottonwood, AZ – Effective Wednesday, December 2, 2020 The City of Cottonwood has changed Yavapai Street, between Main Street and First Street, in Old Town Cottonwood to one-way traffic. The new traffic pattern will see traffic flowing east from Main Street towards First Street. Westbound traffic on Yavapai Street will be directed through the Jail Trail parking lot to the north or down First Street to Pinal or Pima Streets. Yavapai Street east of First Street remains unchanged.
The change to one-way traffic was given careful and considerate deliberation by all of the stakeholders involved, all with the end goal of reducing the propensity for traffic collisions and enhancing the safety of our Old Town area. As such, the Cottonwood Police Department will continue to exercise its discretion by asking for voluntary compliance prior to enforcement action during this transition period, as motorists become acclimated to change of traffic flow.
We ask that motorists and pedestrians follow all posted signs. Please forward any questions regarding this change to Martin Smith at the City of Cottonwood Public Works Department. His contact information may be found at the top of this notice.
