[ARCHIVED] ShowTime Sportz Youth Basketball Program - Return to Play Protocol

SHOWTIME SPORTZ

RETURN TO PLAY PROTOCOL


ShowTime Sportz Youth Basketball Program will be hosting games in Cottonwood on the following dates; 3/13, 3/20, 4/3 and 4/10. The following return to play protocols will take place.


ALL LEAGUE REQUIREMENTS:


MANDATES FOR ATHLETES

  • Must sign a COVID waiver provided by ShowTime Sportz.
  • Must conduct daily symptom assessments (self-evaluation) on every athlete. Anyone who is experiencing symptoms, a temperature of 100.3 or above, or has come into contact with someone who is sick must stay stay home.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water and bring personal use hand sanitizer to the fields. 
  • Bring a personal water bottle which MUST be labeled with players name.
  • Must not share water bottles.
  • Must adhere to 6-foot social distancing while on the sidelines as outlined by Showtime Sportz.
  • Players are highly encouraged to not touch their mouth guard once it has been placed in their mouth and to sanitize their hands after it has been touched.
  • No touch rules - players MUST refrain from high fives, handshake lines, and other physical contact with teammates, opposing players, coaches, officials, and fans. A "round of applause" can be used following the game in lieu of the handshake line.

MANDATES FOR SPECTATORS

  • Must conduct daily symptom assessments (self-evaluation). Anyone who is experiencing symptoms, a temperature of 100.3 or above, or has come into contact with someone who is sick must stay home.
  • Must not enter player areas during both practices and games.
  • Must adhere to 6-foot social distancing practices. This includes in and around sidelines for anyone not in the same household. Please use judgement when bringing elderly and others with health issues to the game.
  • Face coverings are REQUIRED  at all times.
  • We will limit the number of spectators at the venue by strongly recommending only two spectators per player be in attendance, if possible. There will be a designated area for each player's spectators.
  • No post play socializing at the fields.
  • Leave the field as soon as reasonable possible.

MANDATES FOR COACHES

  • Must sign COVID waiver provided by Showtime Sportz.
  • Must adhere to 6-foot social distancing practices.
  • Must wear face coverings at all times.
  • Must conduct daily symptom assessments (self-evaluation). Anyone who is experiencing symptoms, a temperature of 100.3 or above, or has come into contact with someone who is sick must stay home.
  • No touch rule - coaches must refrain from high fives, handshake lines, and other physical contact with teammates, opposing players, coaches, officials, and fans. A "round of applause" can be used following the games in lieu of the handshake line.
  • Coaches and referees must remain 6ft away when discussing calls. This is going to be an adjustment for us all s all coaches' parents etc. must show good sportsmanship and patience. The referees are going to do the best they can.
  • Must ensure that players are following COVID-19 - related prevention measures included herein.
  • Teams must be on apposite sides of the field.
  • All teams must use their own balls and keep them clean in between possessions (wiping them down with a Clorox wipe). Balls will be issued by league.
  • No team snacks/drinks.
  • No after game team huddle.
  • No post play socializing.
  • Leave the field as soon as reasonably possible.

  • Must adhere to 6-foot social distancing practices when interacting with players, coaches, and spectators off the field of play.
  • Wear face coverings at all times while game is not in play.

MANDATES FOR STAFF

  • Must conduct daily symptom assessments (self-evaluation). Anyone who is experiencing symptoms, a temperature of 100.3 or above, or has come into contact with someone who is sick must stay home.
  • Must adhere to 6-foot social distancing practices when interacting with players, coaches, and spectators off the field of play.
  • Wear face coverings at all times.
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided at the Main Tent.

This information is subject to change as state and local requirements change.


COVID Mitigation Plan for Cottonwood Youth Basketball League

  1. Crowd Control
  • We usually do a five minute gap between games, we will adjust that to 15 minutes to allow players/spectators to exit before the next arrive.
  • We will mark out lines w/spray paint in the grass to distance spectators 6' apart on the outside of the courts.
  • Signage will also be posted in various areas to encourage/enforce social distancing on each court and surrounding area.
  • If we come across a situation to include not will to follow the social distancing guidelines, they will politely be asked to leave the event.
  • We will limit the number of registered teams to help limit the crowd population.

       2. Covid-19 Procedures

  • In case of positive tests during this league, I (Bruce Jurecki) will be the contact person for contact tracing.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at our registration table and restrooms.
