Construction complete in Old Town! Phase 4 to begin on August 4

COTTONWOOD, Ariz. – The Main Street Improvements Project continues to move forward ahead of schedule! As of Sunday, July 27, construction activities within Old Town Cottonwood are complete! With that, no work will be performed throughout the week of July 28. Work within Phase 4, which runs from Willard Street to the new 10th Street roundabout, is set to begin on Monday, August 4.  The schedule for Phase 4 is as follows:

  • August 4 to August 8: Crews will be removing the existing asphalt pavement between Willard Street and the new 10th Street roundabout. This work will occur at night, between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. During this work, Main Street will remain open to local and business traffic between Willard Street and the new 10th Street roundabout. Access to this section of Main Street will be open via Willard Street. Access to Main Street at the 10th Street roundabout will be closed. Flaggers and signage will be in place to guide motorists and pedestrians to their destination.
  • August 9 to August 12: Crews will be performing asphalt paving operations. This work will occur from 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Main Street will remain open to local and business traffic between Willard Street and the new 10th Street roundabout. Access to this section of Main Street will be open via Willard Street. Access to Main Street at the 10th Street roundabout will be closed. Flaggers and signage will be in place to guide motorists and pedestrians to their destination.

Following the completion of Phase 4, crews will perform miscellaneous clean-up and striping operations throughout the entire project extents. Please note that this work is highly weather dependent and subject to change.
